To support our new AI Narrations feature, Coassemble uses tokens to manage voiceover generation. Tokens help ensure efficient use of AI resources while encouraging creators to generate narrations once their course is ready.

We don’t anticipate that most users will ever reach their token limits; the limits are simply in place to promote best practice: generating narrations after your course content is finalized.

How token usage works

  • Each time you generate or regenerate narrations, tokens are used.

  • Editing a narration script and republishing will consume additional tokens for that specific screen.

  • Unused tokens do not roll over to the next month.

  • You can view your current token balance in Course Settings → Narrations or during Publish.

How do Tokens work for AI narration?

For AI narration, the following token limits apply. 1 token is equivalent to 1 character.

Free plan: Character limit: 100,000

Team plan: Character limit: 200,000

Enterprise plan: Character limit: 500,000

Headless plan: Character limit: 500,000

Why tokens?

Currently, Narrations is the only feature in Coassemble that uses tokens. For Narrations, 1 token is equivalent to 1 character. This system exists because generating AI voiceovers incurs real processing costs. Tokens help manage that usage fairly while keeping the experience smooth and accessible for everyone.
