How to refine your text
When editing your course content, highlight any text and select Refine. You’ll then have four powerful options to tailor your content to your learners:
1. Improve writing
This option will enhance your text to better suit an online learning audience. It ensures clarity, engagement, and a learner-friendly approach, making your content more effective. It will also fix any grammar, spelling, or punctuation errors and maintain approximately the same length of content whilst enhancing readability.
2. Change tone
Need to adjust the tone of your content? Choose from three options:
Informal & Conversational: Great for making content feel friendly and approachable. This option uses contractions, conversational phrases and a friendly tone.
Academic & Research-Based: Ideal for professional and in-depth educational content, or content that requires a much more serious tone. This option will adopt a more structured and analytical approach, emphasizing evidence, research, and factual information.
Motivational & Persuasive: Perfect for inspiring action and engagement. This choice uses energetic, positive language with motivational phrases and meaningful calls to action.
3. Make shorter
Summarize your content without losing key points—ideal for making long explanations more digestible. By choosing to make your content shorter, you'll get a result that reduces the length by 30-50% whilst preserving key information.
4. Make longer
Expand on ideas and add more depth to your explanations. This choice is perfect for when you need more detail or additional context, as it will increase the length by 50-100%. Relevant examples, explanations or contextual information will be incorporated.
Can I undo the changes to my text?
Each time you use refine, you’ll instantly see the updated text and have the option to keep the new version or undo the change. If you like the refined version, simply click 'Keep'—your content is updated! But if you prefer your original text, you can easily undo by selecting 'Undo'. This flexibility ensures you’re always in control, allowing you to experiment with improvements while keeping your course content exactly how you want it.
Can I refine the same section multiple times?
Yes. You can refine the same section multiple times to get the perfect result. Whether you want to adjust the tone, shorten or expand the text, or improve clarity, you can keep refining until it feels just right.
