Sharing a course in Coassemble is quick and flexible. You can adjust access settings to fit your audience and share via a simple link or customized email invitation. Whether you’re opening your course to a wide group or restricting it to specific people, the Share modal puts you in control of who can access your content.
How do I share my course?
Step 1: Open the Share modal
To open the Share modal, simply click the 'Share' button, located either on the course card within your dashboard or at the top of your screen while inside the course. This will reveal the course Share modal.
Step 2: Adjust the access settings
Under 'Who can access this course?', click the settings icon. By default, the setting is Anyone with the link.
You can choose from the following options:
Option 1: Anyone with the link
If you choose this option, anyone with access to the link will be able to view your course. If you share the course link for users to self-enrol (e.g. in a Slack channel), their identifier (email address) will not be tracked.
Option 2: Anyone who provides an email address
People will be asked to provide their email before viewing the course. This allows you to identify them when analyzing course insights.
Note: People invited via email can still access the course.
Option 3: Only people invited
Only individuals you invite via email can access the course. This option allows you to maintain control over who can access your courses by limiting access solely to individuals you've personally added to the course.
Option 4: Only people with an approved domain
Anyone whose email address ends in a domain you specify will be able to access the course.
Note: People invited via email can still access the course.
Option 5: No one (course disabled)
By selecting this option, no-one will be able to access the course. It will be disabled.
Step 3: Save access settings
Once you’ve selected the appropriate access setting, click Save changes to apply your preferences.
Note: you can change these settings at any time, and it will take immediate effect for anyone who already has access to the link.
Step 4: Share the course
You have two ways to share the course:
Option 1: Copy the link
Click the copy icon and paste the link anywhere you want to invite users, such as Slack, Teams, an email thread, or a website. The access settings you have chosen will apply.
Option 2: Invite people via email
Enter the email addresses of the people you’d like to invite. You can also customize the text in the email invitation before sending it. When someone clicks the link in the email invitation, they will be provided immediate access to the course. If you don't use the email invitation, all people added will be required to verify their email address before accessing the course.
Anyone who has been invited will be visible in the list which can be accessed from within the modal.
How should I set up access for my course?
Different sharing options suit different situations. Below are some common scenarios to help you choose the right access setting and sharing method for your course.
Anyone with the link:
Great for open training courses, quick sharing with a wide audience, or when you don’t need to track user identities. Perfect for sharing links in public channels like Slack or Teams.
Anyone who provides an email address:
Ideal when you want to track engagement and collect participant data without managing invitations manually.
Only people invited:
Best for private or restricted courses where you want to control exactly who gains access, such as onboarding or internal training.
Only people with an approved domain:
Useful for company-wide training, ensuring only users with your organization’s domain can access the course.
No one (course disabled):
Suitable for temporarily disabling access while a course is under review or being updated, or if information no longer applies or is outdated.
