Our Payment links feature is now considered a legacy feature, available only on accounts who already had existing access. It’s no longer part of our core offering for new customers. If you’re currently using Payment links or signed up with it included in your plan offering, it will still be available.
Coassemble’s Payment links feature is a powerful tool that allows workspace owners to sell their courses directly through the platform. This flexibility ensures that whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been creating courses for years, you can easily explore how this feature fits into your business model.
Coassemble Payment links integrate seamlessly with your existing brand or website, making it incredibly easy to start selling courses without disrupting your current setup. If you’re already using platforms like Kajabi or other online communities, Coassemble’s Payment Links can slot right in, allowing you to embed payment options directly into your course.
Getting started with Payment links
Turn any Share link into a Payment link by clicking the 'Share' button on a course to reveal the course share modal.
By default, a course is set to be visible to anyone with the link. To convert the link into a payment link, choose the 'Only people who have paid' option under the access menu option.
At this point you'll see that you cannot yet set a price for your course until you've setup payments with Stripe.
Setup Stripe payments
Before you can start using Payment links, you need to setup the Stripe payments dashboard. Coassemble partners with Stripe for secure financial services allowing you to charge viewers a one-time fee to access your courses with a dedicated Stripe payments dashboard.
Stripe is an online payment and credit card processing platform that allows businesses to accept online payments for digital products. Stripe charges a small transaction fee for all transactions — find out more.
Stripe, being a third-party, will require to set up a Stripe account and provide a range of information which will vary depending on your location. It is a fairly detailed onboarding process, but stick with it, as it will be worth it in the end!
Set a price for your course
Once you've been onboarded into your Stripe account, you'll be able to set a price for your course. Simply click the share button, and make sure you have the 'Only people who have paid' option set under the link access menu. By default, the course will be set to $0, and until you give the course a price, the course link will be accessible by anyone with the link. To set your price, click the edit button next to the price, and add the amount you would like to charge. If you've opted to collect tax in Stripe, the price you set here will be the total, with tax included.
It is important to note that the currency your courses will be sold in will be the same currency that you signed up to Coassemble with. So if you're in the USA, and pay your Coassemble subscription in US dollars, then your courses will be sold to your customers in US dollars.
Testing course links
If you've set up Stripe payments, and set a price for your course, you can test the link without purchasing the payment link integration.
Get your course link or embed code
Getting your course link is as simple as clicking a button. You can get either a course link or an embed code, by clicking either the 'Copy link' or 'Get embed code' buttons.
You'll notice when testing that a Coassemble test-mode banner will be visible on the course payments page, and you will be unable to add any payment details. When you're ready to sell your courses, you can remove the Coassemble test-mode banner, by upgrading your plan.
Purchasing courses
To purchase a course, your customers must provide an email address. This address will be used to create a customer in Stripe, and to provide your customers with a way of accessing the course again.
Sending receipts / invoices
If you want to send customers a receipt after a successful purchase, Stripe can do this for you. Unfortunately, Stripe doesn't have this set on by default, so you will need to opt into it. To switch this functionality on, head over to emails section in your strip dashboard which can be found at https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/emails. Once there, toggle 'Successful payments' to on.
Payment methods
Stripe provides your customers the ability to purchase courses with all major credit card companies. By default, your customers can also purchase using Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Returning customers
For customers who have already paid for a course, and would like to access it again, they just need to click the 'Already purchased' link under the payment button. This will provide them a place where they can enter their email address to receive a verification code. If they've provided the same email address they purchased your course with, they'll be sent a verification code which will allow them to access the course.
Theming
The theme of your payment link is based entirely on the theme you've setup for your course. Changes to the course theme will affect the colour of the payment screen's background, buttons, and course logo (if one is set).
