How to limit course started and course completed emails for everyone in your workspace at once.
How do I stop everyone in my workspace getting an email every time a learner starts or finishes a course?
Open Settings and select Workspace notifications. Turn Course started notifications or Course completed notifications off, or set them to send only the first time a learner starts or completes a course, then select Save changes. The setting applies to everyone in the workspace and overrides each member's own email preferences.
By default, every member of a workspace gets these emails, and each person can only change their own. In a busy workspace that can mean dozens of emails a day for every creator. Workspace notifications let the owner or an admin turn the volume down for the whole team in one place.
How do I change the workspace setting?
- Open Settings and select Workspace notifications under Workspace.
- For Course started notifications and Course completed notifications, choose one of these:
Off: switch the toggle off and nobody in the workspace gets that email. 3. Send an email the first time a learner starts (or completes) a course: members get one email per course, for the first learner only. 4. Send an email every time a learner starts (or completes) a course: members can get an email for every learner. 5. Select Save changes.
The workspace owner and admins can change this setting.
How does it work with each member's own email preferences?
The workspace setting is the most anyone in the workspace can receive. Members can choose fewer emails than the workspace allows in their own Email preferences, but not more.

Frequently asked questions
Does this stop the emails my learners get?
No. This setting only covers the course started and course completed emails sent to members of your workspace. The emails learners get to access a course keep sending as normal.
Can I turn notifications off for one course only?
No. The setting applies to every course in the workspace.
A member says they've turned notifications on but they aren't getting any. Why?
The workspace setting is probably lower than theirs. Check Settings > Workspace notifications. If it's off or set to first time only, that limit applies to everyone, whatever their own preference says.
